Common Mistake by Muslim Brothers During Prayer

(Last Accessed on 12-12-2012)

Why we should wear enough clothes during prayer?

Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly:
‘Awrah in Arabic means a weak point along a border and the like.
In Misbaah al-Muneer it says: Everything that a person covers out of dignity or modesty is ‘awrah.
According to the fuqaha’, everything that it is haraam for a man or woman to uncover is ‘awrah.
Covering the ‘awrah, in the terminology of the fuqaha’, means covering that of which exposure is shameful and causes shame, whether the individual is male or female or hermaphrodite.
See: al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 24/173
Secondly:
Covering the ‘awrah is one of the conditions of prayer being valid because Allah, may He be exalted, says: (interpretation of the meaning):
“Take your adornment (by wearing your clean clothes) while praying”
[al-A‘raaf 7:31].
Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What is meant by adornment in this verse is wearing clothes whilst praying. This was narrated by al-Tabari in his Tafseer, 12/391
And the Prophet (sa) said: “Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman of childbearing age (lit. a woman who menstruates) except with a head covering.”
Narrated by Abu Dawood, 641; narrated and classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi, 377; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
It says in al-Mughni (1/336):
Concealing the ‘awrah from view with something that does not show the skin is obligatory and is a condition of prayer being valid. This is the view of al-Shaafa‘i and ashaab al-ra’y. End quote.
Ibn Hajar said:
The majority are of the view that covering the ‘awrah is one of the conditions of prayer.
End quote. Fath al-Baari, 1/466
Thirdly:
What is required of the worshipper is to cover his ‘awrah whilst praying, according to the consensus of the Muslims. The ‘awrah of a man is the area between the navel and the knees, according to the majority of scholars.
See: al-Mughni, 3/7; al-Istidhkaar, 2/197; Fataawa Islamiyyah, 1/427
With regard to women, the hair and the entire body are ‘awrah and she has to cover them, apart from the face and hands. If she does that, then her prayer is proper, according to scholarly consensus.
See: al-Iqnaa‘ fi Masaa’il al-Ijmaa‘, by Ibn Qattaan, 1/121-123; al-Sharh al-Mumti‘, 2/160 ff.
 Fourthly:
If a person starts to pray with his ‘awrah covered, then during the prayer he is not sure whether some of it has become uncovered, then he should ignore that doubt and complete his prayer, because the basic principle is that the ‘awrah is still covered, and developing doubt about what you were certain about should not be given any attention.
Al-Bukhaari (137) and Muslim (361) narrated from ‘Abbaas ibn Tameem that his paternal uncle said: A complaint was made to the Prophet (S) about when one thinks that something has happened whilst he praying. He said: “Do not stop until you hear a sound or notice a smell.”
Al-Nawawi said:
This hadeeth is one of the basic principles of Islam and an important foundation of fiqh, namely that things are deemed to still be as they originally were unless there is certain proof of the contrary, and passing doubts do not affect that. End quote.
What the worshipper has to do is to prepare for his prayer before he starts to pray. So he should put on clothes that he is certain will cover his ‘awrah and leave clothes that he is afraid will let something of his ‘awrah show whilst he is praying, such as short T-shirts and other kinds of clothing which may rise up and show the lower back, lest some part of his ‘awrah be uncovered when he bows or prostrates.

Winning MS and PhD Scholarships In S. Korea

Dear All,
Let me explain to you that in Korea the easiest way to get admission and scholarship (both fee and living expenses) is first of all, you should search relevant professors of your choice and research interest. Then you should make a tailored made CV according to the interest of those relevant professors and send him/her that CV along with a short email stating your introduction and show your interest that you want to do master/Ph.D under his/her supervision. If a professor shows interest it means almost you have 99% chances that your admission is confirmed. In most of the cases, university provides tuition fee scholarship while professor provide monthly living expenses scholarship. It also means you have to struggle to get these two scholarships. If you get one then the other you have to pay by yourself and it is very expensive for individual. So, first of all, you should try to find “Faculty” => Professors profiles on the university website. Then what you have to do is:
1.Read all your major professors profiles, research interests and projects.
2. Make your CV research oriented.
3. Write an email.
4. Send your email and CV to as many professors as you can (keep in mind only interested professors may reply you, so don’t be disappointed)

Note: If you are interested in any specific professor and he/she does not reply you then you must contact him/her by" telephone". Please keep in mind that many professors do not reply, so in that case, you must contact him/her by telephone.
Important:
1. Maybe if you face some trouble while opening website then please install “Korean” language tools.
2.Deadlines and time is very important.
3.Try to get any English proficiency certificate. Sometime it increases chances of scholarships.
If any updates, I will let you know. Regards, Murad
 4. Once the ball starts rolling (getting in contact with professor) Come up with a project plan or SOP (Statment of purpose, Research plan) that what you are going to research about. Indulge yourself in writing new project proposals if required.
PSA community, please if any information is missing then add it with regards.

Do you agree with this hypothesis...?

Research Hypothesis: An excellent researcher always produces an excellent publication
Inspired from “Excellent Research leads to Excellent Publications” by Brian J. d'Auriol, Ph.D.
(URL: http://www.bdauriol.net/ccig/courses/twre/)

A graduate level course, which is entitled as "Technical Writing and Research Ethics", offered by Computer Engineering Department at Kyunghee University (Global Campus) in Fall-2012 Session. Fortunately, i have enrolled for this class. In this course Prof. Brian J. d'Auriol has originally introduced an hypothesis, i.e. “Excellent Research leads to Excellent Publications”, as a case study for our class-work. I personally feel that at some extent this hypothesis holds in the context of excellent research. Now what do you think....?

The Ghadir Declaration- Spiritual Sovereignty of Imam Ali (AS)

"18 Dhul-hijjah, the day when the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stayed at Ghadīr Khum after his return from Hajjat-ul-wadā to Medina, and surrounded by the Companions (رضي الله عنهم), he declared while raising the hand of Alī al-Murtadā (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم):

مَنْ كُنتُ مَولاهُ فعَلِيٌّ مَولاهُ
Man kuntum Maulah fa haza Ali Maulah

One who has me as his master has Alī as his master.

This was the declaration of Alīs spiritual sovereignty and its unconditional acceptance is binding on the believers till the Day of Judgment. It clearly proves that anyone who denies Alīs spiritual leadership in fact denies the Prophets leadership. This most humble follower of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) felt that some people deny this reality partly out of ignorance and partly out of prejudice, which is spreading unnecessary tension in the Muslim community. Under the circumstances I thought it necessary to write two pamphlets on the issue of sovereignty and leadership: one titled as The Ghadīr Declaration and the other titled The Awaited Imām.

The former is designed to clarify the status of Alī (عليه السلام) as the opener of the spiritual sovereignty and the latter is designed to describe the status of Imām Mahdī (عليه السلام), the seal of spiritual sovereignty.

The main purpose is to remove the doubts that have gathered around the issue and to make the Muslims aware of the reality.

The spiritual sovereignty of Alī and Mahdī (عليهما السلام) are proved by the authentic hadīth-books of Ahl-us-Sunnah wal-Jamāah, in the form of continuous traditions, that is, there is uninterrupted evidence to endorse the soundness of the claim.

In the first pamphlet I have included 51 traditions which are authentically documented. The reason for this number is that this year I have completed 51 years of my life. Therefore, I have relied on the relationship of figure to make my humble contribution to the glory of Alī al-Murtadā (عليه السلام) and to seek the divine blessing through an expression of my humility.

I propose to establish the point that three forms of legacy are derived from the person of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم):

1.

The spiritual legacy of internal (hidden) sovereignty.

2.

The political legacy of external (manifest) sovereignty.

3.

general legacy of religious sovereignty.

Message to all Muslims

Pir Naseer Ud Din (Late) Rawalpindi, Pakistan was famous in delivering extempore highly inspiring and thought provoking speeches. All praise is to Allah that the belief of Ahlu's Sunnah is upon the fact that the real helper is Allah and His chosen people. It is Allah who removes all difficulties big and small. His chosen people are intermediaries for His help. For example, it is Allah who grants cures and raises His creatures but doctors and parents are intermediaries for cures and upbringing respectively. Everyone is this world turns towards means and it is through this that the world exists. The same is the case for the Prophets and Saints. They are intermediaries for the help of Allah and creation turns to them with this in mind.

Teacher failed an entire class

An economics teacher at a local school made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Gillard/Brown socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The teacher then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on the Gillard/Brown plan". All grades will
be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the teacher told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, and gives to those who do nothing, no-one will try

Or want to succeed.

It could NOT be any simpler than that.

Remember, there IS a test coming up.--->> The next election.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You can not legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Discovery of a restaurant at Suwon station, Korea

On sunday, we made plan to have dinner at New Taaj restaurant. It took almost 30 minutes to reach there from our university. It was too late because we reached over there at around 9pm. It was closing time of the restaurant. Suddenly we changed our plan and were looking for any-other Pakistani food restaurant e.g.  Ayesha. Unfortunately similar situation was there. We were really disappointed at that time. We went back to New Taaj restaurant and asked them about any other option. He suggested a Nepali Restaurant "Swoyambhu".  Later we had a dinner there, they served indian traditional food. It was delicious as good as the Taaj Restaurant.

Chuseok holidays

Chuseok Holidays in Korea
Unfortunately, in this year 2012, Korean traditional holidays overlap with the weekend....so nothing special. Enjoying the holiday sunshine in front of main library building.

Dinner

Enjoying delicious food with Prof. and friends
I personally feel that Korean food is much better than Pakistani food. It has variety of dishes and taste which i can't have all of them together in Pakistani dishes.
