Learn to read the holy Quran correctly

Purpose

• To Avoid the Incorrect Recitation: I personally observed that many literate Muslims recite the holy book Quran in a wrong way which is prohibited in Islam. 
• Guide the Teachers: Specially when someone teaches the Quran to others even he/she don't know by himself/herself the rules and regulation for reciting the Quranic verses which is very essential.
• To Create Awareness and Share Useful Resources: My intention is to create awareness (in the light of Prophet's sayings) about the importance of reading Quran correctly and to provide them easy way to learn the basics of Quran, i.e. how to read or pronounce correctly, using free material available on the internet.

Importance

"Holy Quran is a Divine Book. In Quran, Allah Almighty has specified a complete code of conduct for the Muslims, to adopt in their lives. It not only provides basic information about the religion, but about each and every aspect of life which a person needs to know about. Therefore, it is essential for every Muslim to learn and understand Quran. The education of Quran is obligatory for every Muslim. It is the primary education a Muslim should acquire, because there is no better education a person can acquire besides it. صحیح بخاری:جلد سوم:حدیث نمبر 12            حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  16   متفق علیہ 6

 ہدبہ بن خالد، ابوخالد، ہمام، قتادہ، انس، ابوموسی سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ قرآن پڑھنے والے مومن کی مثال سنگترہ کی سی ہے کہ اس کا مزہ بھی عمدہ اور خوشبوبھی عمدہ، اور قرآن نہ پڑھنے والے کی مثال اس کھجور کی طرح ہے جس کا مزہ تو اچھا ہے لیکن خوشبو نہیں اور اس فاسق کی مثال جو قرآن پڑھتا ہے گل ریحان کی طرح ہے کہ اس کی خوشبو اچھی ہے اور مزہ کچھ نہیں اور اس فاسق کی مثال جو قرآن نہیں پڑھتا اندرائن کے پھل کی سی ہے، جس کا مزہ بھی کڑوا ہے اور بو بھی خراب۔

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari:

The Prophet said, "The example of him (a believer) who recites the Qur'an is like that of a citron which tastes good and smells good. And he (a believer) who does not recite the Qur'an is like a date which is good in taste but has no smell. And the example of a dissolute wicked person who recites the Qur'an is like the Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter. And the example of a dissolute wicked person who does not recite the Qur'an is like the colocynth which tastes bitter and has no smell.

 ابومعمر عبدالورث، خالد، عکرمہ، ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک مرتبہ لپٹا لیا اور فرمایا کہ اے اللہ اس کو (اپنی کتاب) کا علم عطا فرما۔

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Once the Prophet embraced me and said, "O Allah! Bestow on him the knowledge of the Book (Qur'an)."

صحیح بخاری:جلد دوم:حدیث نمبر 995           حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  18   متفق علیہ 16

 سلیمان بن حرب شعبہ عمرو بن مرہ ابراہیم حضرت مسروق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے سامنے جب عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کا تذکرہ کیا گیا تو حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا وہ ایسے شخص ہیں جن کو میں برابر دوست رکھتا ہوں جب سے میں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ قرآن چار شخصوں سے پڑھو عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سالم مولیٰ حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ابی بن کعب سے اور معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کہتے ہیں سب سے پہلے آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود کا نام لیا راوی کا بیان ہے مجھے یاد نہیں کہ پہلے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم  نے ابی بن کعب کا نام لیا یا معاذ بن جبل کا ۔

Narrated Masruq:

'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) was mentioned before 'Abdullah bin 'Amr. The latter said, "That is a man I continue to love because I heard Allah's Apostle saying, ' Learn the recitation of the Qur'an from (any of these) four persons: 'Abdullah bin Masud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifa, Ubai bin Kab, and Muadh bin Jabal." I do not remember whether he mentioned Ubai first or Muadh.

If someone is reciting incorrectly, can we criticize?

 ابوالولید، شعبہ، عبدالملک بن میسر ہ، نزال، عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے ایک شخص کو ایک آیت نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی تلاوت کے خلاف پڑھتے ہوئے سنا میں نے اس کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس لے آیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم دونوں اچھا پڑھتے ہو، شعبہ نے کہا، میں گمان کرتا ہوں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ فرمایا کہ اختلاف نہ کرو، اس لئے کہ تم سے پہلی امتوں نے اختلاف کیا تو ہلاک ہو گئیں۔

Narrated 'Abdullah:

I heard a man reciting a verse (of the Holy Qur'an) but I had heard the Prophet reciting it differently. So, I caught hold of the man by the hand and took him to Allah's Apostle who said, "Both of you are right." Shu'ba, the sub-narrator said, "I think he said to them, "Don't differ, for the nations before you differed and perished (because of their differences). "

How to pronounce the words of Quran?

 نصر بن علی بن نصر ابواحمد سفیان ابواسحاق اسود بن یزید حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسالت مآب صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّکِرٍ(یعنی کیا ہے کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا) مشہور قرأت کے موافق پڑھا۔

Narrated 'Abdullah:

Allah's Apostle recited the following Verse) in the usual tone: 'Fahal-Min-Muddalkir.' (54.15)

How much recitation is sufficient (quantity)?

صحیح بخاری:جلد سوم:حدیث نمبر 46

موسی، ابوعوانہ، مغیرہ، مجاہد، عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میرے والد نے ایک اچھے خاندان والی عورت سے میرا نکاح کردیا تھا، اور میرے والد اپنی بہو سے (اکثراوقات) میرا حال پوچھتے رہتے تھے، وہ جواب دیتی کہ وہ ایک اچھا نیک آدمی ہے، مگر جب سے میں آئی ہوں، میرے بچھونے پر قدم بھی نہ رکھا اور نہ میرے قریب آئے، جب ایک عرصہ گذرگیا تو میرے والد نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ قصہ بیان کیا، آپ نے فرمایا اسے میرے پاس لاؤ، چنانچہ میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بھیجا گیا، آپ نے پوچھا تم روزے کس طرح رکھتے ہو، میں نے کہا مسلسل، پھر فرمایا قرآن کس طرح ختم کرتے ہو، میں کہا ہر رات، تو آپ نے فرمایا ہر مہینے میں تین روزے رکھا کرو، اور ایک ماہ میں قرآن مجید ختم کیا کرو، میں نے عرض کیا مجھے اس سے زیادہ طاقت ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ایک ہفتہ میں تین روزے رکھ لیا کرو، میں نے عرض کیا مجھے اس سے بھی زیادہ طاقت ہے، ہمیشہ دو دن افطار کیا کرو اور ایک دن روزہ رکھا کرو، عرض کیا مجھ میں اس بھی زیادہ طاقت ہے، فرمایا اچھا داؤد علیہ السلام کی طرح روزے رکھا کرو جو سب سے افضل ہے، یعنی ایک دن روزہ رکھو اور ایک دن افطار کرو، اور قرآن سات روز میں ختم کیا کرو ( عبداللہ کہتے ہیں) کاش میں حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی رخصت منظور کرلتا کیوں کہ اب میں بوڑھا اور ضعیف ہوگیا ہوں اور مجھ میں ویسی طاقت نہیں رہی، بڑھاپے میں اپنے کسی گھر والے کو دن میں سا تو اں حصہ قرآن سنادیا کرتے تھے تاکہ اس کا پڑھنا رات میں آسان ہوجائے اور جب بہت کمزور ہوجاتے اور طاقت حاصل کرنا چاہتے تو کئی روز تک روزہ نہ رکھتے، پھر شمار کرکے اتنے روزے رکھ لیتے کہ کہیں کوئی باقی نہ رہ جائے، جس کا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے میں نے عہد کیا تھا (امام بخاری) کہتے ہیں کہ بعض حضرات نے تین راتوں اور پانچ راتوں میں ختم قرآن بیان کیا ہے، اور زیادہ روایتیں سات راتوں کی ہی پائی جاتی ہیں۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As:

My father got me married to a lady of a noble family, and often used to ask my wife about me, and she used to reply, "What a wonderful man he is! He never comes to my bed, nor has he approached me since he married me." When this state continued for a long period, my father told the story to the Prophet who said to my father, "Let me meet him." Then I met him and he asked me, "How do you fast?" I replied, "I fast daily," He asked, "How long does it take you to finish the recitation of the whole Quran?" I replied, "I finish it every night." On that he said, "Fast for three days every month and recite the Qur'an (and finish it) in one month." I said, "But I have power to do more than that." He said, "Then fast for three days per week." I said, "i have the power to do more than that." He said, "Therefore, fast the most superior type of fasting, (that is, the fasting of (prophet) David who used to fast every alternate day; and finish the recitation of the whole Qur'an In seven days." I wish I had accepted the permission of Allah's Apostle as I have become a weak old man. It is said that 'Abdullah used to recite one-seventh of the Qur'an during the day-time to some of his family members, for he used to check his memorization of what he would recite at night during the daytime so that it would be easier for him to read at night. And whenever he wanted to gain some strength, he used to give up fasting for some days and count those days to fast for a similar period, for he disliked to leave those things which he used to do during the lifetime of the Prophet.

جامع ترمذی:جلد دوم:حدیث نمبر 873          حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  15   متفق علیہ 3

 عبید بن اسباط بن محمدقرشی، محمد قرشی، مطرف، ابواسحاق، ابوبردة، حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ! کتنے دنوں میں قرآن ختم کرلیا کروں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ایک ماہ میں۔ میں نے عرض کیا میں اس سے کم مدت میں پڑھ سکتا ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تو پھر بیس دن میں پڑھ لیا کرو۔ میں نے کہا میں اس سے بھی کم مدت میں پڑھ سکتا ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا دس دن میں پڑھ لیا کرو۔ میں نے عرض کیا میں اس سے بھی کم مدت میں پڑھنے کی استطاعت رکھتا ہوں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا پھر پانچ دن میں پڑھ لیا کرو۔ میں نے عرض کیا میں اس سے بھی کم مدت میں پڑھ سکتا ہوں لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے کم مدت میں پڑھنے کی اجازت نہیں دی۔ یہ حدیث ابوبردہ کی عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی روایت سے حسن صحیح غریب ہے اور کئی سندوں سے عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہی سے منقول ہے۔ انہی سے منقول ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جس نے تین دن سے کم میں قرآن پڑھا وہ اسے نہیں سمجھا۔ نیز عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے منقول ہے کہ چالیس دن میں قرآن کریم ختم کیا کرو۔ اسحاق بن ابراہیم کہتے ہیں کہ میں پسند نہیں کرتا کہ کوئی شخص چالیس دن میں قرآن کو ختم نہ کرے۔ بعض علماء کہتے ہیں کہ تین دن سے کم میں قرآن نہ پڑھا (ختم نہ کیا) جائے۔ ان کی دلیل حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی حدیث ہے۔ لیکن بعض علماء جن میں عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بھی ہیں۔ تین دن سے کم مدت میں قرآن ختم کرنے کی اجازت دیتے ہیں۔ حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہی کے بارے میں منقول ہے کہ وہ وتر کی ایک رکعت میں پورا قرآن پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ سعید بن جبیر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے منقول ہے کہ انہوں نے خانہ کعبہ میں دو رکعتوں میں پورا قرآن ختم کیا لیکن ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھا اہلِ علم کے نزدیک مستحب ہے۔

Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) narrated: I submitted, “O Messenger of Allah (SAW)  in how much time may I recite the Qur’an?” He said, “Complete it in a month.” I said, “I can do better than that.” He said, “Complete it in twenty days.” I said, “I can do better than that.” He said, “Complete it in fifteen days.” I said, “I can do better than that.” He said, “Complete it in ten days.”I said, “I can do better than that.” He said,”Complete it in five days.”I said, “I can do better than that.” But, he did not allow me further concession.

How about listening the Quranic verses?

 موسی بن اسماعیل، ابوعوانہ، موسیٰ بن ابی عائشہ، سعید بن جبیر اللہ تعالیٰ کے قول لا تحرک بہ لسانک لتعجل بہ (جلد یاد کر لینے کے لئے اپنی زبان کو نہ ہلائیے) کے متعلق حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ قرآن اترتے وقت آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سخت محنت اٹھاتے تھے منجملہ ان کے ایک یہ تھا کہ آپ اپنے دونوں ہونٹ ہلاتے تھے، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ میں ان دونوں کو ہلاتا ہوں، جس طرح آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہلاتے تھے اور سعید نے بیان کیا کہ میں (دونوں ہونٹ) ہلاتا ہوں جس طرح حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کو جنبش دیتے ہوئے دیکھا، چنانچہ اپنے دونوں ہونٹ ہلا کر دکھائے، چنانچہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت ( لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِه لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِه) 75۔ قیامۃ : آیت 16) نازل فرمائی کہ اے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم قرآن کو جلد (یاد) کرنے کیلئے اپنی زبان کو نہ ہلاؤ، اس کا جمع کرنا اور پڑھانا ہمارے ذمہ ہے، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ قرآن کا تمہارے سینہ میں جمع کردینا اور اس کو تمہارا پڑھنا، پھر جب ہم اس کو پڑھ لیں تو اس کے پڑھنے کی پیروی کرو، ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں یعنی اس کو سنو اور چپ رہو، پھر یقینا اس کا مطلب سمجھا دینا ہمارے ذمہ ہے، پھر بلاشبہ میرے ذمہ ہے کہ تم اس کو پڑھو، اس کے بعد جب جبرائیل آپ کے پاس آتے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم غور سے سنتے، پھر جب جبرائیل علیہ السلام چلے جاتے، تو اس کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پڑھتے تھے جس طرح جبرائیل نے پڑھا تھا۔

Narrated Said bin Jubair: Ibn 'Abbas in the explanation of the Statement of Allah. 'Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran) to make haste therewith." (75.16) Said "Allah's Apostle used to bear the revelation with great trouble and used to move his lips (quickly) with the Inspiration." Ibn 'Abbas moved his lips saying, "I am moving my lips in front of you as Allah's Apostle used to move his." Said moved his lips saying: "I am moving my lips, as I saw Ibn 'Abbas moving his." Ibn 'Abbas added, "So Allah revealed 'Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith. It is for us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad) the ability to recite it (the Qur'an) (75.16-17) which means that Allah will make him (the Prophet ) remember the portion of the Qur'an which was revealed at that time by heart and recite it. The Statement of Allah: And 'When we have recited it to you (O Muhammad through Gabriel) then you follow its (Qur'an) recital' (75.18) means 'listen to it and be silent.' Then it is for us (Allah) to make It clear to you' (75.19) means 'Then it is (for Allah) to make you recite it (and its meaning will be clear by itself through your tongue). Afterwards, Allah's Apostle used to listen to Gabriel whenever he came and after his departure he used to recite it as Gabriel had recited it."

When not to recite?

صحیح مسلم:جلد اول:حدیث نمبر 1739          حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  12   متفق علیہ 1

 ہارون بن معروف، عبداللہ بن وہب، ابوطاہر، حرملہ، ابن وہب، یونس بن یزید، ابن شہاب، سائب بن یزید، عبیداللہ بن عبدللہ، عبدالرحمن، بن عبدالقاری، حضرت عمر بن خطاب فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جو آدمی وظیفہ سے یا اس میں سے کسی عمل سے سو جائے تو فجر کی نماز اور ظہر کی نماز کے درمیان کر لے تو اس کے لئے اس طرح لکھ دیا جاتا ہے گویا کہ اس نے رات کو ہی پڑھ لیا۔

'Umar b. Khattab reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Should anyone fall asleep and fail to recite his portion of the Qur'an, or a part of it, if he recites it between the dawn prayer and the noon prayer, it will be recorded for him as though he had recited it during the night.

Tone of recitation?

صحیح بخاری:جلد دوم:حدیث نمبر 1481         حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  13   متفق علیہ 8

 ابو الولید، شعبہ، معاویہ بن قرہ، عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے فتح مکہ کے دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ناقہ پر سوار خوش الحانی سے سورت فتح پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا، معاویہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر مجھے لوگوں کے ارد گرد جمع ہو جانے کا اندیشہ نہ ہوتا تو میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم  کی طرح خوش الحانی کرکے دکھاتا (جیسا کہ عبداللہ بن مغفل نے کی تھی) ۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal:

I saw Allah's Apostle on the day of the Conquest of Mecca over his she-camel, reciting Surat-al-Fath in a vibrant quivering tone. (The sub-narrator, Mu'awiya added, "Were I not afraid that the people may gather around me, I would recite in vibrant quivering tone as he (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal) did, imitating Allah's Apostle.")

صحیح بخاری:جلد اول:حدیث نمبر 740           حدیث مرفوع            مکررات  23   متفق علیہ 7

 خلاد بن یحیی ، مسعر، عدی بن ثابت، براء روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو عشاء کی نماز میں (وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ) پڑھتے ہوئے سنا اور میں نے آپ سے زیادہ خوش آواز یا اچھا پڑھنے والا نہیں سنا۔

Narrated Al-Bara: I heard the Prophet reciting wat-tini wazzaituni" (95) in the 'Isha' prayer and I never heard a sweeter voice or a better way of recitation than that of the Prophet.

 مسلم بن ابراہیم، جریر بن حازم، قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرأت کا حال پوچھا تو آپ نے جواب دیا کہ آپ خوب کھینچ کر پڑھتے تھے۔

Narrated Qatada:

I asked Anas bin Malik about the recitation of the Prophet. He said, "He used to pray long (certain sounds) very much.

 یعقوب بن ابراہیم، ہشیم، ابوبشر، سعید بن جبیر، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ یہ آیت ( وَلَا تَجْ هَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا  الخ۔ ) 17۔ الاسراء : 110) مکہ میں اس وقت نازل ہوئی جب کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نماز بلند آواز سے پڑھا کرتے تھے مشرک جب سنتے تو قرآن اس کے اتارنے والے اور جس پر اتارا جا رہا تھا سب کو برا بھلا کہا کرتے تھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر یہ آیت نازل فرمائی کہ ( وَلَا تَجْ هَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا  الخ۔ ) 17۔ الاسراء : 110) کہ قرأت نہ تو زیادہ بلند ہونی چاہئے کہ مشرکین سن کر بکو اس کرنے لگیں اور نہ اتنی آہستہ ہونی چاہئے کہ آپ کے ساتھ والے بھی نہ سن سکیں بلکہ قرأت درمیانی آواز میں ہونی چاہئے۔

Narrated Ibn Abbas:

(regarding): 'Neither say your, prayer aloud, nor say it in a low tone.' (17.110) This Verse was revealed while Allah's Apostle was hiding himself in Mecca. When he prayed with his companions, he used to raise his voice with the recitation of Qur'an, and if the pagans happened to hear him, they would abuse the Qur'an, the One who revealed it and the one who brought it. Therefore Allah said to His Prophet : 'Neither say your prayer aloud.' (17.110) i.e. do not recite aloud lest the pagans should hear you, but follow a way between.

 قتیبہ بن سعید، محمد بن عبید غبری، ابوعوانہ، قتادہ، زرارہ بن اوفی، سعد بن ہشام، حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ جو آدمی قرآن مجید میں ماہر ہو وہ ان فرشتوں کے ساتھ ہے جو معزز اور بزرگی والے ہیں اور جو قرآن مجید اٹک اٹک کر پڑھتا ہے اور اسے پڑھنے میں دشواری پیش آتی ہے تو اس کے لئے دوہرا اجر ہے۔

'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) (as saying): One who is proficient in the Qur'an is associated with the noble, upright, recording angels; and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have a double reward.
